HKU SPACE Executive Academy (SEA) partnered with the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Macau to co-organise a Business Mission and Study Tour to Silicon Valley in the United States in April 2018. There were 22 delegates from diversified industries joined this programme.

Delegates enjoyed a rich itinerary of an Executive Entrepreneurship training covering an inspiring Traditional Business Innovative Transformation taught by Professor Edison Tse at the Stanford University, and a series of business networking events such as visiting Global Chamber San Francisco and Plug and Play, which allowed delegates to get to know more about business startup and digital transformation of an enterprise.

Corporate visit is one of the core components of this programme. Delegates paid visit to well-known innovation technology enterprises such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intel as well as Google. They were also inspired by different innovative business ideas and marketing strategies from OnePiece San Francisco, which is a renowned incubation hubs in US; and “Cool Tea Bar”, which is a relatively technology-free company using data to design and execute a desirable consumer journey.

Mr. Stanley Au, Chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Macau, expressed his sincere gratitude to SEA for co-organising this programme which widened their members' exposure in innovative industries. He also encouraged members to explore new business opportunities between the United States and the Greater China Region.

One of the delegates of the tour, Mr. Derek Szeto, Vice Chairman of Luen Ying Hong Company Limited, valued most on the module of Traditional Business Innovative Transformation delivered by Professor Edison Tse, Associate Professor of the Standford University. The business mingling session was also a rewarding activity which definitely helped him to extend business network to startup companies.

Executive Business Mission Tour is one of the signature programmes of SEA.
