Mr Gavin Chung
Mr Gavin Chung is a cosmetic chemist and product development expert with approximately fifteen years of experience in cosmetics research, product management, and innovation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and has received additional academic honors from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and London College of Fashion. Gavin has collaborated with major international brands such as Alliance Boots UK, Marks & Spencer, and H&M. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Cosmetic Scientists (UK), the American Chemical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), and the Hong Kong Society of Cosmetic Chemists, where he currently serves as a director. Gavin is committed to raising public awareness of cosmetic safety and serves as a part-time lecturer at HKU SPACE. He also directs the Hong Kong Cosmetic Technical Resources Centre and participates in the Cosmetics Industry Committee of the Hong Kong China Manufacturers’ Association. As the founder of JMC Cosmetics Innovation Hong Kong, Gavin leads efforts to help clients globally create, develop, and source cosmetics, skincare, and haircare products. He is the chief technical advisor to multiple international cosmetic brands and has extensive experience in cross-border collaboration. His personal interests include industrial design, photography, fragrance, and gastronomy, which inspire his innovative approach to product development and solutions.
