In alignment with the HKSAR Government’s "AI+" strategy, the demand for AI transformation has evolved beyond mere technical implementation. Global research indicates that over 85% of AI initiatives fail due to a lack of governance and management protocols rather than technical issues. To address this, Prof. Dr. Kelvin Wan, Vice President of PMI Hong Kong Chapter, will share exclusive insights from his recent delivery of AI governance training to over 20 professional bodies and HKSAR in early 2026.

This session explores the transition from a technical specialist to an "AI+ Leader". Prof. Wan will introduce the PMI-CPMAI framework and ISO 42001 standards, demonstrating how to establish internationally benchmarked governance to manage AI risks and achieve critical AI+ KPIs. As a collaborative initiative between HKU SPACE and PMIHK, this talk highlights how the retitled Postgraduate Diploma in Information Project Leadership for AI Transformation equips professionals with the essential consultative skills to bridge the gap between technical complexity and executive decision-making, ensuring the seamless delivery of AI projects.
