Dear colleagues and students,

In view of the emergence of local cases infected with the Omicron variant and hidden transmission chains, the Government has introduced a new regime of compulsory testing under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulation (Cap. 599J).  Members of the public who had been present at restricted areas / specified premises (including government premises) or places prescribed in Government gazetted compulsory testing notices (“CTNs") may be required to undergo compulsory testing.   

In this connection, compulsory testing as required by the Department of Health (DH) should be reported by the student and/or PT teacher concerned to the respective Programme Team for information and follow up action as appropriate.

Under the tightened compulsory testing arrangement, persons who resided, worked and visited those premises visited by all cases confirmed/suspected to be carrying the Omicron variant will be subject to multiple compulsory tests.  If a student / PT teacher is required to undergo such multiple tests over a period, he/she is asked to refrain from visiting the School campus until completion of the 1^st and the 2^nd compulsory tests and each with negative result for COVID-19.  Furthermore, he/she will still need to complete the remaining multiple compulsory tests and notify the respective Programme Team / College of the School as soon as each test result is available.

A Health Declaration Form with Notice to Student / PT Teacher on Hygiene Requirements is in place.  The student / PT teacher concerned can notify the respective Programme Team / College at his/her earliest by sending an email with enclosure of the completed Health Declaration Form and the COVID-19 test results.  Furthermore, students / PT teachers can also make use of the Form for health reporting purpose, e.g. having left Hong Kong in the past 21 days, being put under compulsory quarantine, having close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, having symptoms of COVID-19, etc. so that the School could take timely follow up action as appropriate.
