From 9 -16 September 2023, Dr Joey Lam, Acting Head of the College of Business and Finance, and Ms Lin Huifang, Program Director, embarked on an exchange and study tour to Sichuan province and Chongqing city, visited 15 institutions. This visit aimed to foster exchange and cooperation across the fields of education, media, business, and healthcare between the two regions.
The delegation visited Sichuan University, Chongqing University, Chongqing Institute of Foreign Studies, and Southwest University, engaging in-depth discussions with university representatives on education and talent exchange collaborations. They also visited the General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce to enhance the understanding of local and financial commerce. Additionally, the delegation met with the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Sichuan, the Xinhua News Agency Sichuan Branch, the First City Education, and the Sichuan Provincial Local Financial Supervision and Administration Bureau, to explore business and media cooperation opportunities. Finally, they visited the Sichuan Rehabilitation Hospital to discuss prospects for development in medical talent training.
This visit marks a significant milestone in the cooperation between HKU SPACE and various institutions in Sichuan. It has injected new momentum into the exchange and development between the two regions, greatly benefiting both sides.
