HKU SPACE is pleased to announce that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 15 June 2021 with The Flying Club (Hong Kong) Limited (The Club) to encourage a connection between the aviation industry, aviation students, and a new mentorship programme for nurturing and educating aviation professionals in Hong Kong.

The MOU was signed by Professor William K. M. Lee, Director of HKU SPACE and Mr Edwin Mok, Director of The Flying Club (Hong Kong) Limited.

The first programme in collaboration with The Club will be a mentorship programme which will commence in September 2021. The Club will provide experienced professionals in the aviation industry to volunteer as mentors, who will guide and advise students from the aviation studies programme at HKU SPACE in their career development and provide them with first-hand insights and exposure to the aviation industry.

Captain Daniel Wong, Head of the Mentorship Programme at The Club, said, “The pilots and aviation professionals from The Club will share their extensive knowledge and vast experience from working in the industry over the years with the students, to help them choose their career path. We are grateful for this opportunity to work with HKU SPACE and contribute to the future generation of aviation professionals in Hong Kong.”

The Club was established in 2021 with a mission to provide education in aviation, a social venue and a meeting place for aviation professionals and for those who are passionate about flying. The Club is scheduled to open its doors in December this year and will be situated in Central with facilities including meeting rooms, a lounge, dining room and a simulator.
