Course DESCRIPTION

This 5-week course is designed to help students progress from CEFR B2 to B2+. It includes 100 hours of classroom instruction and 100 hours of independent study on HKU SPACE Online Universal Learning Platform (SOUL), providing comprehensive coverage of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar. Students will progress from intermediate English skills to upper intermediate for exam readiness. Students are required to complete Block 4 during the 5-week intensive training.

EBC III Schedule

EBC III class will start on 13 April 2026.

Completion Requirements for Each Block

• Fulfil the 80% attendance requirement ; and
• Pass 60% or above in the overall course assessments
          o Weekly quizzes, short writing tasks, etc.
          o Assessments:
              - Speaking
              - Listening
              - Reading
              - Writing
              - Integrated Task

*Students who fail to meet the block-completion requirements will be asked to re-take the unsuccessful block within 12 months should there be a class available.

Minimum Entry Requirement  (For admission to EBC III)

Applicants shall provide evidence of English proficiency, such as:
i.     an overall band of 6.0 with no subtests lower than 5.0 in the IELTS; or
ii.    a score of 79 in the internet-based TOEFL; or
iii.   equivalent qualifications.

* Applicants with other qualifications will be considered on individual merit.
* Applicants should submit their official report issued by the testing organisation/ awarding body as their supporting document(s).
