Stylistic Analysis: Insight into the Subtle Delivery of Meaning
Stylistic analysis, or, more simply, stylistics, is the systematic examination of style in language, both written and spoken, to identify patterns of usage and show how the words you are reading or hearing mean what they mean, especially when authors use subtle and subliminal techniques.
It’s about the “how” of communication, uncovering how language choices create meaning beyond just the literal words. It’s like dissecting a dish to understand how the ingredients and cooking techniques combine to deliver a specific flavour.
