本課程的對象為法語初學者或對法語只有初步認識的學員。它涵蓋了一系列日常生活的主題和情境，發展學員的口語、聽力、閱讀和寫作四種技能，配合相應的語法、詞彙和發音練習。在課程結束時，學生應能理解並使用基本的日常短語來介紹自己，提出並回答有關個人基本資訊的問題，以及處理一般日常生活情況，例如購物、外出用餐、談論他們的工作、家庭和興趣等。
本課程涵蓋歐洲語言共同參考架構（CEFR）A1等級的內容。

本課程的對象為西班牙語初學者或對西班牙語只有初步認識的學員。它涵蓋了一系列日常生活的主題和情境，發展學員的口語、聽力、閱讀和寫作四種技能，配合相應的語法、詞彙和發音練習。在課程結束時，學生應能理解並使用基本的日常短語來介紹自己，提出並回答有關個人基本資訊的問題，以及處理一般日常生活情況的情景，例如購物、外出用餐、談論他們的工作、家庭和興趣等。
 

本課程涵蓋歐洲語言共同參考架構（CEFR）A1等級的內容。

The programme is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform translation work across various settings and contexts. The primary objective is to instill a sense of confidence and competence in students, enabling them to do translation work at a level that closely mirrors professional standards. This will be achieved through practical exercises that simulate real-world translation scenarios, including assessing translation works done by artificial intelligence. Students are encouraged to apply the linguistic and cultural concepts they have learned throughout the programme to practical tasks, including the final Translation Project module.
 
In addition to providing students with practical training, the programme also lays a solid foundation for further academic pursuits. It prepares students for higher qualifications by providing them with a comprehensive understanding of translation theories and methodologies.

This programme provides systematic training in translation for those who already have degree or equivalent qualifications. It aims at giving students the confidence and competence to deal with translation work at a close to professional level in different settings and contexts. Students should be able to apply the linguistic and cultural concepts learned to the practical tasks of translation and make improvements in translations done by people and/or artificial intelligence after completion of the programme.
 

The programme also provides a solid foundation for those who plan to study for a higher qualification in translation in the future: holders of the Postgraduate Certificate in Translation can articulate to Postgraduate Diploma in Translation with exemption from the first five modules of the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation programme offered by HKU SPACE.

This programme aims to provide students with the necessary skills to interpret consecutively between Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English languages. It covers the basic components and processes of consecutive interpretation (including the growing use of generative AI in the process of translation), with a heavy emphasis on consecutive interpretation role-play in simulated scenarios. Students will gain active-listening skills, note-taking skills, and rendition delivery. The delivery will include lectures and extensive practice in Hong Kong’s trilingual context – English, as well as Cantonese, will be used as the medium of instruction. 

The Certificate in Advanced Business English programme helps working professionals communicate accurately and effectively in spoken and written English in various business contexts. The programme is designed to enable students to become more fluent and articulate when communicating in English, so as to produce well-written texts that characterise professionalism and effectiveness in modern business communication, and demonstrate competent oral communication skills in various business contexts.

本課程旨在幫助學生在工作場所使用英語溝通時更加準確和流利。課程目標是讓學生具備基本的商務文法、商務詞彙和商務溝通技能，使他們能夠在常見的商務情景中與英語作為母語和非英語作為母語的人士進行交流。

The programme examines the benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in translation, including its impacts on the quality of translations, the role of human translators, and the potential ethical issues. It will also explore how AI can be used to improve the efficiency and accuracy of translation through machine learning algorithms and natural language processing techniques. Students will learn to collaborate with AI to provide translation for a variety of text types, including general documents, marketing materials, and literary texts.
 

本課程為有興趣學習普通話的人士開設。主要學習漢語拼音及普通話的發音規則和方法；掌握普通話聽、說、讀的基本功；瞭解廣東話與普通話在詞匯和語法方面的差异；學會用普通話进行日常生活簡單會話。「普通話基礎證書」和「普通話證書(中級)」是循序漸進的系列課程，系統地介紹普通話在語音、詞滙和語法方面的特點，培養學員的聽說能力。

The program aims to help students acquire an intermediate to advanced level command of spoken and written Japanese. It develops students' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills through studying texts, writing, listening, conversation exercises, oral presentations and group discussions.
課程旨在幫助學員掌握中至高級程度日語會話及寫作能力。通過文章閱讀、寫作、聆聽、會話、口頭匯報及小組討論等，進一步提升講、聽、讀、寫的水平。

課程概括

香港大學專業進修學院之日語課程分為「日語證書(入門)」、「日語證書(基礎)」、「日語證書(中級)」、「日語證書(高中級)」、「日語證書(高級)」、「日語文憑」、「日語高等文憑」及「日語傳意及日本文化高等文憑」。各級時數為120小時。

本課程通過進一步學習各種動詞收變化句如被動、假定、意志、命令、授受動詞等不文化句型，以進一步提高學員聽、講、寫、讀的能力。完成首兩月的學習後，學員可達到日本語能力試N5之水平，緊接開始學習N4程度的內容。

課程概括

本課程分為「日語證書(入門)」、「日語證書(基礎)」、「日語證書(中級)」、「日語證書(高中級)」、「日語證書(高級)」、「日語文憑」、「日語高等文憑」及「日語傳意及日本文化高等文憑」。各級時數為120小時。

本課程首4月教授動詞變化句中的樣態、聽聞、使役、使役被動、敬語及謙讓等文法句型，連同首兩年的「日語證書(入門)」及「日語證書(基礎)」，到這階段學員基本上完成日本語能力試驗N4級中的語法及句型。緊接著是加強中級程度的講、聽、讀、寫的訓練。
