Professor Grahame T. BilbowDirector and Co-founder of Grange EducationGrahame Bilbow received his professorship in English Linguistics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2000. After leaving Hong Kong in 2005, he spent several years as First Secretary for Education and British Council Director of English for China at the British Embassy in Beijing, before moving to the UK in 2011 as Assistant Director of the Higher Education Academy. In 2013, he returned to Hong Kong, and spent seven years as Director of the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at the University of Hong Kong. Grahame’s PhD is in intercultural communication, and he has published numerous books, chapters and journal articles relating to the English language, as well as Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Over his many years in higher education, he has conducted numerous teacher training programmes and workshops, served on several audit panels, and contributed to strategic planning at institutions in the UK, the Middle East and the Far East. He is a Principal Fellow of the HEA/ AdvanceHE in the UK, and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and The Royal Society of Arts. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Grahame is Co-Founder and Director of Grange Education, an educational consultancy which provides services to universities, colleges and schools working to raise their educational standards to an international benchmark. |
