Dr Yau is the Scientific Officer of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and a registered Medical Laboratory Technologist (Part I). She is very experienced in the area of medical laboratory. Dr Yau is an active member of Medical Laboratory Technologist Board, Hong Kong Accreditation Service, Hong Kong Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences, and etc.

Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) provide clinical laboratory results, which are the foundation of many diagnoses and treatment. However, the public may not recognise the contribution of MLTs to the healthcare sector, as they are working in the laboratories. This seminar will introduce the profession of MLTs, and use COVID-19 test as an example to explain why MLTs are important to the society.
