Architect Ka Chi
Following his study at HKU SPACE, Ka Chi received his degree from the University of Edinburgh. Prior setting up studio 3.1, Ka Chi was working in local award-winning architecture practices. He has worked on different architecture projects from cinema, auditorium, retail to commercial and residential. In 2021, he dedicated his passion to architecture and established studio 3.1 to further explore his ambition on architecture. Ka Chi believed the result of architecture should be an engagement of the needs, the preoccupations, and the awareness of the building environment. To ensure different disciplines should be cooperated seamlessly with mutual understanding. studio 3.1 mainly focus on design and build project to ensure the ideas of client, architect and manufacturer can be listened and accommodated.

In this talk, the speaker, architect Ka Chi, will share his embrace of the multiple roles in the building industry, each reflected in the projects he has undertaken.
As an Architect, he serves as an executive mediator—advising owners, administering contracts, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry standards for the public good.
As a Designer, he is engaged in design dialogue, crafting spaces that align with clients’ ambitions and expectations.
As a Builder, through his design-and-build practice, he oversees every step with care, creating spaces deeply connected to human lives.
These roles—Architect, Designer, Builder —shape his approach to architecture; blending precision, creativity, and commitment to a meaningful, user-focused architecture.
