Professor Chan Sau-yan
Prof Chan Sau-yan, a researcher in Cantonese opera, is now the Programme Coordinator of the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Cantonese Operatic Singing offered by SPACE of the University of Hong Kong.
Miss Wong Yee-man
Miss Wong Yee-man is a veteran and highly respected instructor of Cantonese operatic singing who has taught in numerous higher institutions and universities around Hong Kong. She is currently an instructor for the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Cantonese Operatic Singing offered by SPACE of the University of Hong Kong.

The number of Cantonese operatic song singers has been multiplying throughout the recent years, who constantly demand quality instructors. The present talk will discuss issues central to the teaching of Cantonese operatic singing, including the theories and structure of Cantonese operatic music, the language and linguistic components of the lyrics, singing and performing skills and techniques, and the pedagogy. The speakers, Prof. Chan Sau-yan and Miss Wong Yee-man will also suggest how instructors of Cantonese operatic singing can upgrade themselves through intensive and continual training.
