Mr Joseph Liu taught various courses in astronomy, including “Astronomy for Amateurs” in 1966, an “Introduction to Observational Astronomy” in 1969, “Astronomical Photography for Amateurs” in 1970, “Mars” in 1971, and the “The Amateur Astronomer and his Telescope” in 1978. Mr Liu has contributed so much to the field of astronomy in Hong Kong, that the incumbent curator at the Hong Kong Space Museum, Robert Leung, said his interest in astronomy was sparked in part by Mr Liu.
