On November 4, 2024, HKU SPACE launched a five-day learning program for Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (the “LOCPG”) youth cadres. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Lee Ming Kwai, Director of the Hong Kong Academy of Public Administration, Ms. Hui Sze Mung, Executive Deputy Director, Mr. Chen Yong from the LOCPG, and Professor Chan Yuen Tak Fai Dorothy, Deputy Director of HKU SPACE.

The learning program offered a comprehensive curriculum covering multiple key aspects of Hong Kong society. It aimed to provide youth cadres with an in-depth learning experience, enhancing their understanding of Hong Kong’s developmental context. The learning featured five thematic lectures spanning diverse fields, including politics, economics, law, and culture. Through in-depth theoretical analysis, practical case studies, and cutting-edge research findings, leading scholars and experts delivered valuable insights to youth cadres from the LOCPG.

Participants expressed that the learning was highly rewarding, significantly enhancing their professional knowledge while fostering a profound shift in their perspectives. This program has provided a window into Hong Kong’s diverse socio-economic landscape, equipping youth cadres with the knowledge and tools to contribute more effectively to their future work.
