Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year HKU SPACE successfully held its first virtual Open Day on 27 June through live broadcast on YouTube and Facebook.
The Venerable Chang Lin was the keynote speaker at the School’s virtual Open Day this year. In response to the currently unstable situation in Hong Kong, he spoke on the topic of ‘Compulsory Lessons of Life - Peaceful Mind’, walking people through some of the most important lessons in life by sharing the three basic steps of meditation - adjusting one’s body, adjusting one’s breath, and adjusting one’s heart. He also shared meditation techniques for sitting and lying postures as well as for observing breathing. It was a wonderful journey for the audience to relax their body and mind, leading them to better health and a sense of ease and freedom.
In addition to the keynote lecture, the Open Day also held over 20 online talks on topics as varied as life & health, market trends, professions and social science. Experts from different fields discussed Post-Coronavirus Era topics with netizens together, including Traditional Chinese Medicine in viral disease prevention, the new opportunities for FinTech professionals in COVID-19, and challenges and opportunities for the private jet sector under the epidemic. There were other interesting topics such as Chinese Medicine Health Knowledge, K-drama Analysis, Wining in the Workplace through Psychometric Tests, and Shopping for the Perfect Diamond, allowing you to enjoy gaining knowledge without leaving home.
