The School's annual event, "Open SPACE", was successfully held on 8 June with a hybrid of online and offline modes. More than 80 engaging talks covering four major themes: the latest market trends, professional skill enhancement, health and wellness decoding, and language and cultural exploration. Additionally, a new ‘DSE Studying Planning’ topic was introduced to help students contemplate their future educational paths.'
This year’s three keynotes included the recently trending topic ‘The latest trends in the development of family offices in Hong Kong in 2024’ presented by Mr Jason Fung, the Global Head of Family Office HK, Invest Hong Kong.
Registered dietitian, Mrs Clara Pi and the Senior Programme Director of HKU SPACE, Dr Jenny Tung held an in-depth conversation between a traditional Chinese medicine doctor and a dietitian, titled ‘A Dialogue between Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Dietitian: Unveiling the Mysteries of Vegetarianism and Food Therapy for Health’ which debunked myths about nutritional therapy.
We were also honoured to have Mr OKADA Kenichi, the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, share his experiences in Hong Kong and his 30-year diplomatic career in his talk ‘19 Mount Austin Road--My Life as a Diplomat in Hong Kong’.
The Open SPACE received an enthusiastic response, with close to 1,400 participants attending on-site, and the total number of online views for the talks exceeded 5,000. Attendees greatly benefited from the informative and engaging content.
