Programme Overview
Highlights
- provide students with an understanding of interior design in its historical and contemporary contexts;
- develop and refine students’ aesthetic sensitivity and creativity;
- enhance students’ awareness of the responsibilities and potential liabilities of interior designers; and
- enable students to formulate and communicate their ideas, by both verbal and visual means.

- Those who wish to enter the interior design field.
- Practitioners in interior design or related fields who wish to obtain a formal qualification for career advancement.

There are seven modules:

Assessment
Students are continuously assessed on the progress and quality of their projects or written assignments.
Students will be awarded a Diploma in Interior Design issued by HKU SPACE within the HKU system, provided that they:
- attend at least 80% of the classes in each module; and
- obtain a passing grade for all modules.

- One weekday evening after 7:00pm; and
- One Saturday morning or afternoon

Course Fee- HK$39,800
Payable in 2 instalments:
1st Instalment: HK$27,860 (Upon admission)
2nd Instalment: HK$11,940 (To be advised)
Entry Requirements
Applicants shall:
(a) (i) have gained in the HKDSE Examination Level 2 in 5 subjects including Chinese Language and English Language; or
(ii) have gained in the HKCEE Grade E in 3 subjects, and Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language; or
(iii) hold a Certificate in Foundation Art and Design awarded within the HKU system through HKU SPACE; or
(iv) be aged at least 21 with 2 years of relevant work experience; and
(b) have an aptitude for art.
Applicants may be required to attend an admissions interview with a presentation of their artwork portfolio as appropriate. Applicants holding qualification (a) (iii) or (a) (iv) above shall be proficient in both Chinese (Cantonese) and English.

Enrolment Method1. Online Application

- Complete the online application form by clicking the icon on the top right hand corner of the programme webpage and then follow the instructions.
- Upload a soft copy of any proof of qualification as specified in the “Entry Requirements”. Only file format in doc, docx, jpg and pdf are supported.

Please complete the Application for Enrolment Form SF26 and bring or post the completed form, together with the following to any of the HKU SPACE enrolment centres:

Applicants are required to present their HKID card/passport and originals of academic credentials for verification at the time of application.
