A recognised law qualification for application to the PCLL Programme
Hong Kong Government Deputy Solicitor General Jenny Fung announces the establishment of HKU SPACE's direct pathway to the PCLL (with no need to sit any conversion exams) for students who start their law studies on the Certificate in Legal Studies, via the Advanced Diploma for Legal Executives (Graduate Level), at a meeting of the Legislative Council's panel on Administration of Justice and Legal Services on 31 August 2021 (at 8:53-10:30 on video above).
The Legco panel meeting was attended by senior representatives from all three PCLL providers, The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong, who have all approved the the Advanced Diploma for Legal Executives (Graduate Level) for direct entry to their PCLL programmes without any need to sit any of the extra PCLL Conversion Exams required of graduates of most other part-time law courses.
The meeting addressed by HKU SPACE Associate Head of the College of Humanities and Law Danny Gittings who thanked Legco members for their support for the Advanced Diploma for Legal Executives (Graduate Level) and promised HKU SPACE would continue to work to increase opportunities for legal executives (at 20:49-22:40 on video below).
