The LLM in Legal Practice is a top-up award offered by Manchester Metropolitan University, via HKU SPACE, and is unique in Hong Kong, offering a fast and flexible route to a master’s degree in law.
Eligible applicants are those who have successfully completed the PCLL (or LPC/BPTC).
This 1-year programme comprises 4 online lectures and 3 online workshops on Research Methods, after which candidates must choose their research topic area and complete a 3,000-word Research Proposal (15% of the final mark), followed by a 15,000-word Final Dissertation (85% of the final mark).
The programme has built-in flexibility for busy working professionals, with the 4 online lectures pre-recorded and downloadable for viewing at a candidate’s own convenience, and the 3 live online workshops timetabled for evenings or weekends to accommodate candidates’ work schedules. Furthermore, provided that the Research Proposal and Final Dissertation are completed within 1 year, the assessed work can be written at a candidate’s own pace.
This small and unique programme is now open for applications, on a first-come-first-served basis.
