About HKPEAC

The development of the Hong Kong Putonghua Education and Assessment Centre (HKPEAC) can be traced back to 1996, when it was founded by the Faculty of Education of The University of Hong Kong. As the first institution in the city to implement Putonghua proficiency testing, the Centre has played a pioneering role in the field for decades.

Through various stages of evolution and institutional restructuring, the Centre has adapted to the changing educational landscape while remaining steadfast in its core values: Professionalism, Rigour, and Pragmatism. Despite shifts in organizational structure and operational models, we continue to drive excellence in Putonghua pedagogy, curriculum development, and competency assessment, consistently elevating our professional standards and service quality.

With a long-standing reputation and a broad service reach, the Centre provides comprehensive Putonghua training and assessment services to a diverse range of sectors. Our extensive experience in curriculum planning, pedagogical practice, and talent cultivation has allowed us to build a solid foundation in the community. Today, HKPEAC stands as a leading institution dedicated to the advancement of Putonghua education and professional assessment in Hong Kong.
