Education for Teachers

The new series of  "Education for Teachers" is first introduced in this year which aims at providing opportunity for teachers developlment in the field of innovative teaching, such as Video Production Bootcamp for Teachers and British English Elocution for Teachers.

This course explores some of the poems, short stories, plays, and novels covered in IGCSE, GCSE, and HKDSE English in Literature in detail, and teaches key literary analytical skills, such as the thematic, narrative, and prosodic traditions from Renaissance to modern periods.  That includes works by William Shakespeare, William Blake, John Keats, William Carlos Williams, Dylan Thomas, F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, Maya Angelou, Margaret Atwood, and others. Students will learn to read these texts under a systematic, critical framework and to develop their analytical and imaginative abilities to approach unseen poetry, a challenging exam section for many.  Teachers, adults, and students of English Literature can join, and no literary experience is needed:  This course prepares students to read for leisure, for exams, and for language enhancement.

Video Production – a vital skill for 21st century teaching.

The 3-session bootcamp is aimed to equip the participants with the basic video production skills required for turning the traditional paper-based teaching materials into “digitised” format using free software, and devices like computer and smartphone. Today’s devices are simple to hold and easy to load. At the end of the course, participants will be able to teach with more impactful materials, adding life to their teaching, both face-to-face and online.
