Precision medicine has emerged as a promising approach in oncology, offering novel insights and therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment. It focuses on tailoring medical interventions to individual patients based on their unique genetic, molecular, and clinical characteristics, leading to more personalized and effective therapies. Chinese medicine, on the other hand, is deeply rooted in ancient holistic philosophies and employs a comprehensive and individualized approach to treat diseases, including cancer.

This presentation aims to explore the prospects of precision medicine and Chinese medicine in oncology. Precision medicine enables the identification of specific genetic alterations and molecular signatures in cancer cells, guiding the development of targeted therapies and immunotherapies. Chinese medicine practices, such as herbal medicine and acupuncture, can complement conventional therapies by addressing patients’ overall well-being, enhancing immune function, alleviating treatment-induced side effects, and improving quality of life. However, challenges remain, including the need for rigorous scientific validation of Chinese medicine interventions.

Nevertheless, the prospects of precision medicine and Chinese medicine in oncology are promising. These approaches hold potential for optimizing cancer treatment and improving patient outcomes. Further research is essential to harness the full potential of these approaches in the fight against cancer.
