Ms Lee, Yeon Soo
Yeon Soo Lee is a cartoonist based on Jeju Island, South Korea, who studied art at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Canada. Her bright and imaginative comics depict everyday scenes of friendship and love between dogs and humans. She currently serialises comics in The Hankyoreh, one of the largest daily newspapers in Korea, and on Instagram with over 12.4K followers. She has also published a comic book series called "A Dance with You" which consists of volumes 1 to 5. Additionally, she held a solo exhibition in 2018, and a new exhibition will be held in June this year in Korea.
Mr Kevin Shen
Mr Shen, the facilitator, studied Korean at the Korean Language Institute of Yonsei University. He has been teaching Korean at various universities for almost 20 years.

Join us for a journey into the world of Korean webtoons and everyday comics with a working cartoonist. You will gain practical insights into using Instagram as a platform for comics and explore the evolving landscape of K-webtoons and everyday comics industry. You will also discover how the cartoonist creates popular series with lovable canine protagonists and portrays diverse stories from everyday life.
This talk is perfect for anyone who loves K-webtoons, Instagram webtoons, and everyday comics, as well as those who enjoy illustration and adore dogs. Cantonese interpretation and facilitation for Korean will be provided to make it accessible to everyone.
