IELTS Test Focus Skill Preparation Workshop Series

This series aims to help participants who wish to boost their IELTS Test (academic module) scores. It comprises four 4-hour workshops, each providing focused practice on one specific skillset: Listening, Academic Reading, Academic Writing or Speaking. 

For Workshop 4 which focuses on Speaking, topics include:

  • learn useful speaking strategies for face-to-face interview with an IELTS examiner.
  • understand the performance criteria and their fulfilment: fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation.
  • understand the speaking test format:
    • Part 1 – Interview
    • Part 2 – Long turn
    • Part 3 – Discussion
  • practise:
    • answering questions on familiar topics
    • giving a 3-4 minutes’ talk from a task card
    • responding to more abstract questions from the examiner

take part in timed mock speaking test and obtain feedback.    

Teaching Staff

Instructors of the course are drawn from our panel of qualified and experienced English language teachers. Some of them are native speakers; others are local teachers with native speaker competence.
 

Applicants should note:
  • Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
  • Unless changes are made to the advertised details, we do not usually issue joining instructions. If your application has been accepted, you should go to the first session of the class at the time and place shown.
  • No refunds or transfers to a different class will be approved. 
  • Applicants should have  a CEFR B1+ or above English language proficiency.
