HKU SPACE Law: Better Value for Money

More cost effective than other law programmes.

A change of career is just the thing Jasmin Chan wanted, after spending eight years in various fields including customer service and marketing. So Jasmin decided to embark on studying law.

Starting on Hong Kong best introductory law program, HKU SPACE’s Certificate in Legal Studies, Jasmin built on her accomplishments as she continued to get a Distinction on HKU SPACE’s Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law and then used HKU SPACE's LLB (Hons) Hong Kong as a pathway to successfully secure a place on the full-time PCLL programme at HKU, which is the main route to becoming a lawyer in Hong Kong.

Jasmin says she chose HKU SPACE because of its excellent reputation for part-time legal studies and also because its law programmes are also comparatively more cost-effective than other law programmes such a JD. She offers her top tips: “Have a good timetable and stick to it, don’t skip lessons. You can learn a lot from the teachers and it will give you more confidence in the final exams.”

Jasmin is a practicing solicitor and regularly returns to HKU SPACE to mentor law students seeking to follow the same pathway to a legal career.
