OLQE Preparatory Workshops

As part of the University of Hong Kong, HKU SPACE provides learning opportunities for personal, professional and career advancement for people from all walks of life.
We have assembled an exceptional teaching team that includes experienced and up-and-coming Hong Kong barristers and solicitors, practicing lawyers from other common law jurisdictions, and distinguished legal academics with extensive experience in PCLL training. Our expert instructors are dedicated to delivering focused, exam-oriented guidance — equipping candidates with both the substantive knowledge and strategic mindset needed to excel in the OLQE examinations.
Recognizing the bilingual nature of legal practice in Hong Kong, most of our instructors are proficient in delivering instruction in both English and Mandarin Chinese. They possess a unique ability to demystify complex common law doctrines and nuanced legal principles — including concepts such as acquiescence, priority, hearsay, and other frequently tested areas — with exceptional clarity in either language.
This dual-language capability, combined with our instructors' practical courtroom and transactional experience, ensures our participants receive authoritative yet accessible preparation tailored to the demands of the OLQE.
🪶Efficient Teaching and Learning for Legal Professionals
Lawyers often have demanding work and family commitments. To accommodate their busy schedules, our training is designed to be intensive yet flexible. Training sessions are scheduled on Saturdays (i.e., morning and afternoon sessions) and Sunday mornings throughout August and September, allowing participants to retain Sunday afternoons for family time, personal preparation, and rest ahead of the workweek.
To further support candidates, we offer mock examinations and review sessions in October, shortly before the OLQE. These sessions are designed to familiarize candidates with the exam format and environment, enhancing their readiness and confidence.
Our workshops do not include evening sessions. Morning sessions typically begin at 10am. Lawyers residing and working in Shenzhen and other cities in the Greater Bay Area can conveniently attend without the need to stay overnight in Hong Kong, as same-day cross-border travel is sufficient — even for consecutive training days.
